Privacy Policy

Avatar.gift is built on one principle: your data belongs to you and stays with you. The app runs its AI entirely on your device. We designed it so that we — the developers — cannot see your conversations, your memories, or anything the AI learns about you.

What stays on your device

• Conversations — everything you say to your AI is stored locally on your iPhone.
• Memories — everything the AI remembers about you is stored locally on your iPhone.
• AI inference — the AI model runs on your iPhone. Your messages are not sent to any server to generate responses.

Online lookups you ask for

Some requests need the internet. When you ask for a web search, the weather, an exchange rate, or an encyclopedia summary, the app sends only that lookup — not your conversation history or memories — directly from your iPhone to a public service such as Bing, DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, Open-Meteo, or Frankfurter. That service receives the lookup and your device's IP address and handles them under its own privacy policy; nothing passes through us. You can turn web search off inside the app.

What we do not do

• We do not collect your conversations or memories.
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.
• We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.

Backups

Like most iOS apps, your local data (conversations and memories) is included in your own device backups — iCloud Backup or computer backups — if you have them enabled. Those backups belong to your Apple account, are encrypted by Apple, and never pass through our servers (we don't operate any server that stores user data). This is also what brings your AI back intact when you move to a new iPhone. Prefer full control? Use "Keep Your Soul Safe" in the app's Settings to export an encrypted backup file you manage yourself.

Data the app can access, with your permission

To help you get things done, the AI can use iOS features such as Reminders, Calendar, Contacts, and Notes. Access is granted only through standard iOS permission prompts, is used solely to perform the action you asked for, and the data involved is processed on device. You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive anonymized transaction records from Apple to unlock what you purchased. We never see your payment details.

Data deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control. You can delete individual conversations and memories inside the app, or remove all data by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be announced inside the app before they take effect.
